The Imo State House of Assembly Candidate for Oru West State Constituency under People’s Democratic Party, PDP platform in 2023 general elections,Hon. Onyekachi Onumajulu has expressed implicit confidence in the new leadership of the Party.
Fielding questions from Newsmen on the recent mass exodus of the Party members immediately after the inauguration of Imo State New Caretaker Committee of PDP on Wednesday 8th May,2024 at the Party Secretariat, Owerri,Hon. Onumajulu expressed happiness that they have been able to reposition their political Party and however set mercenaries in motion towards having victorious outing in the next electioneering period.
Hear him,”my view,regarding those that left the Party,is that people will always have one reason or the other to leave a political party in order to actualize their political ambitions and aspirations. Personally,I don’t think that leaving a formidable party like PDP is a good idea , whatever is the problem should have been resolved within the Party by the organ of the Party responsible for resolution. But if they feel that leaving is their best option, then it’s okay. As you can see the Party is vibrant and full of life as against the propaganda that the Party is dead. We are very confident that the newly inaugurated Caretaker Committee ably led by Sir Chidi Dike is very competent and definitely will drive the Party to enviable heights. PDP remains the party to beat come 2027.

Similarly, the Chairman of PDP in Isu Local Government Area of Imo State,Hon. Onyinye Obiaju described PDP as the Party to watch in 2027 general elections. “What happened to our party today is not new and this is not the first time people left PDP and paved way for other political heavy weights to join the Party. We are going to heavily mobilize to strengthen our Party and I am optimistic that PDP has capacity of winning next elections in Imo State”,he concluded.
In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairman of Imo State Caretaker Committee of PDP, Hon Chidi Dike promised to take the party to victory and Successful repositions that would guarantee equity and fair treatment of its members.
