Ala Igbo Must Be Safe: Stop the Killings and Kidnappings on Aba Road

The rising cases of kidnappings and violent attacks along Aba Road, especially near the Ngor-Okpala area, have become a major threat to the safety of the people. What used to be a busy and important route is now feared by travelers and locals alike.

Governor Hope Uzodimma and the Imo State government must act immediately. The current situation has gone beyond what regular police patrols can handle. Stronger, more serious action is needed to stop these criminals.

These attackers are believed to be hiding in the nearby forests, from where they launch their evil operations. A special team made up of police, soldiers, and trusted local security groups should be formed to go into these forests, find the criminals, and clear them out completely.

Communities must also be involved in this effort. With proper training and support, responsible local people can help protect their towns and villages. They understand the area better and can give useful help to the security forces.

Any individuals found helping the kidnappers in any way—by hiding them, feeding them, or giving them information—should face strong punishment. There can be no mercy for those who betray their own people.

The Southeast has faced many difficulties over the years, and this added insecurity must not be allowed to destroy our peace. People deserve to travel freely, do their work, and live without fear.

Governor Uzodimma must act quickly and boldly. The lives and safety of the people are too important to ignore.
