The Executive Chairman of Oru West LGA, Hon. Ikenna Adikibe, has commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for his numerous grassroots empowerment programmes in the state, saying that such had benefited many, including the indigent and rural dwellers.
Adikibe, made the remarks at the Ikemba Ojukwu Center, Owerri, while addressing the women of Oru West LGA during the distribution of high-yield plantain and banana suckers provided by the Imo State Government to farmers and indigent persons from accross the 27 LGAs of the state.
The Oru West LGA boss, noted that Governor Uzodimma has demonstrated satisfactory leadership that has impacted the people of the state positively in various sectors.
He added that the distribution of the suckers to the beneficiaries was a significant intervention that enhanced the Shared Prosperity Government grassroots empowerment programmes.
The chairman urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the governor’s gesture by ensuring that the good objectives of program were realized. He opined that the suckers if properly planted and guided to grow accordingly, would not only generate income for the beneficiaries, but ensure food security in the state.
“I take this opportunity to thank our dear governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma for his effective and people-oriented leadership as evidenced in the numerous projects and programmes his has accomplished for the people of the state. From infrastructural works to human capacity building programmes, the governor has done exceedingly well.
“Today, Governor Hope Uzodimma has demonstrated once again his burning desire to see that every Imo person enjoys the benefits of good governance he is delivering in the state. I’m particularly grateful to His Excellency for this empowerment exercise which has also benefited people from my LGA. No doubt, this will serve various needs,” Adikibe asserted.
He used the opportunity and called on the women and others to always support the 3R Government towards assisting the governor accomplish his good objectives for the state.
Meanwhile, the presence, encouragement and support from Hon. Adikibe, stirred up jubilation among the women who appreciated Governor Uzodimma and the chairman for their performances at the state and LGA levels.
Our reporter observed the women singing and dancing while pledging their continuous support for the government and readiness to ensure the fruitful harvest from the plantain and banana suckers.
