The President-General of Owerri Zurumee People’s Assembly, Hon. Chief Wisdom Ekewuba (Odenigbo 1 of Igbo Land), has paid a sympathy visit to his brother, Obinna Umunnakwe, popularly known as DJ Future, in their hometown of Avu, Owerri West LGA, Imo State.
DJ Future was attacked and robbed by gunmen several months ago while Chief Ekewuba was away in the United States. The violent incident left him physically and emotionally affected, drawing concern from family, friends, and members of the wider community.
During the visit, Chief Ekewuba strongly condemned the attack, describing it as unfortunate and unacceptable. He urged security agencies to intensify efforts in combating such criminal acts and ensuring the safety of law-abiding citizens.
He encouraged his brother to remain strong and resilient in the face of adversity, assuring him that better days lie ahead. As a gesture of support, he offered a token to assist in his recovery and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, security, and unity within the community.
Speaking briefly, Chief Ekewuba expressed optimism, stating, “It can only get better.”
The visit was deeply appreciated by DJ Future and his family, who welcomed the support and solidarity. The show of empathy highlights the enduring strength of family ties and the importance of standing together during difficult times.
