President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that Nigeria will take a leading role in global security in 2026, aiming to strengthen both national safety and regional stability.
Speaking on the nations security and foreign policy agenda, Tinubu said that collaboration with international partners will be central to tackling modern security challenges, including terrorism, cybercrime, and transnational threats.
He stated that Nigeria will deepen cooperation with friendly nations, regional organizations, and global security institutions to share intelligence, enhance training, and conduct joint operations. Tinubu highlighted that united efforts are essential for addressing threats that no country can face alone.
The President assured that this approach will not only boost Nigerias internal security but also strengthen the capacity and welfare of security personnel, improve border management, and support peacekeeping initiatives.
Tinubu added that Nigeria is committed to promoting peace and stability across Africa and the world, positioning the country as a reliable partner in global security initiatives while protecting the lives and property of its citizens.
