Two Police Officers Killed in Suspected IPOB/ESN Attack in Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two police officers following an attack by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Enugu State.

According to the police, the incident occurred when the assailants launched a violent assault on security operatives carrying out their lawful duties. The officers were fatally injured during the attack, while police assets were also reportedly damaged.

The Command condemned the attack, describing it as a criminal act against the state and its security institutions. It assured residents that steps have been taken to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Security patrols have since been intensified in the area to prevent further violence and to ensure the safety of residents. The police also called on members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.

The Enugu State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and vowed that those responsible for the attack would not go unpunished.
