No fewer than 30 people have reportedly been killed following a deadly attack by suspected bandits on a rural community in Zamfara State, further highlighting the persistent insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West region.
The assailants, said to have arrived in large numbers on motorcycles, invaded Dutsin Dan Ajiya village in Anka Local Government Area late at night.

While more than 30 deaths have been confirmed by local sources, fears remain that the casualty figure could rise as search efforts continue.
Community leaders have strongly condemned the attack, describing it as devastating and calling for immediate reinforcement of security personnel in vulnerable rural areas. They stressed the urgent need for proactive measures to prevent further loss of lives.
