At the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senate President Godswill Akpabio expressed confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that Nigerians have not yet seen the full impact of his administration’s policies.
According to Akpabio, the reforms currently being implemented are still at an early stage, and their benefits will become clearer with time.
Speaking before party leaders, delegates, and supporters, Akpabio said Tinubu’s government is laying a foundation for long-term national growth. He noted that while some of the policies may be difficult in the short term, they are necessary steps toward stabilizing the economy and supporting development. He urged Nigerians to remain patient as the administration continues to implement its “Renewed Hope” agenda.
The APC convention, held in Abuja, served as a platform for party stakeholders to reaffirm their commitment to Tinubu’s leadership and to plan ahead of future elections. The gathering reflected unity within the ruling party, with key figures expressing similar views about the direction of the country under the current administration.
Akpabio’s remarks also come at a time when many Nigerians are facing economic pressures, including rising living costs and the effects of ongoing reforms. While supporters of the government believe these policies will produce positive results over time, critics remain concerned about their immediate impact on citizens’ livelihoods.
Ultimately, Akpabio’s statement reflects the APC’s message that the Tinubu administration’s plans are still in progress, and that more results are expected in the future.
