The Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has officially unveiled Abia State’s electric buses for urban mass transit, marking a bold step toward cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable transportation in Nigeria.
The launch highlights Abia State’s commitment to modernizing its public transport system while reducing carbon emissions and improving mobility for residents. The electric buses, designed for efficiency and environmental sustainability, are expected to provide affordable, reliable, and comfortable transportation across major urban routes in the state.
Speaking at the unveiling, Okonjo-Iweala praised the initiative as a visionary move that aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and promote green infrastructure.
