The Forum of Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants on Youth to Governors of Nigeria, ably led by Hon. Eric Uwakwe has called for massive support for Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi for the position of President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF).
The Forum described Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, who is the Director General/Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria and President of Dam Foundation, as a man who has shown uncommon commitment and passion for the game of basketball as a former player and a promoter of the growth of the sport in Nigeria.
According to the Forum, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi is the best choice for the President of the NBBF, as he will deploy his wealth of experience, knowledge, and leadership capacity for the prosperity and development of the game.
The Forum also acknowledged the massive transformation and reforms he has brought to bear at the Energy Commission of Nigeria and expressed confidence that he will replicate the same Midas touch in the NBBF if given the opportunity.
Hon. Eric Uwakwe, Chairman of the Forum, therefore called on all state chapters of NBBF and youth stakeholders across the federation to rally round a man who is passionate, capable and optimistic to make a real difference in Nigerian basketball.
The Forum concluded that DAM for President will definitely bring development, infrastructure, unification, and consolidation to Nigerian basketball.
What Nigerian basketball needs at this critical time is not just a leader but a visionary builder — and Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi represents that new hope. His pedigree as an administrator, his youth-friendly disposition, and his track record of excellence make him the bridge between potential and podium.
This is a movement, not just an endorsement. The Forum stands firm that with Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi as NBBF President, the future of Nigerian basketball is not only secure but golden.
From grassroots courts to global stages, DAM is the name that resonates with results. He is not coming to learn on the job; he is coming to transform the game, empower the youth, and restore Nigeria’s pride in basketball.
The time to get it right is now. Nigerian basketball deserves a winning team off the court to produce a winning team on the court — and Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi is that winning choice.
