The Christian fathers of Maria Assumpta Cathedral Parish Owerri , Imo state under the aegais of Catholic Men Organisation , C.M.O on Sunday 5th May 2024 held their annual day celebration.
The event which took place at the Cathedral Parish auditorium witnessed the presence of Proffessionals of superlative class , business mogul , political administrators who converged for the event to deliberate on the theme : ” Enhancing Spirituality and Christian virtues in Catholic fathers”
The event took place under the watch of His Holiness Pope Francis, His Grace Most Reverend Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji , His Lordship ,Most Reverend. Moses Chikwe , Auxillary Bishop , Owerri Archdiocese and the cathedral administrator Rev Father Dr. Marthin Edward Ohajunwa.
In his address , the president of the Catholic Men Organisation , Maria Assumpta Cathedral Parish , Owerri , Dr. Alphonsus U.C Ukozor said the theme of the year’s event is very suitable considering the critical, spiritual and temporal roles fathers play in the family , church , and society. He maintained that the men are the pillars of the home who inculcate discipline and make sure the members of the family are doing well, in his words “Fathers have numerous roles to play in the home , they are the pillars who inculcate discipline and make sure the family are doing well” he expressed .
Speaking on the Achievements recorded by the C.M.O so far , Dr . Ukozor mentioned the on-going St . Joseph Hall of Faith Project : having successfully roofed the hall project within one year of assumption of office, he disclosed that the plastering work is still ongoing as the electrical piping of the building is almost completed , other areas of improvement according to him is improved structure of the C .M.O , enhancing the spirituality of members , establishment of reward system and recognition of Jubilee couples.
Also speaking C.M.O president of St.Anthony’s station Hon . Chijioke Ejieji enjoined Christian men to continue being the leader and source of support to their families .
Contributing Hrh .Eze. Engr D.N Onyenekwu , Eze Imo IV of Ezi Awo II Awomamma , who is also a patron of the organization expressed happiness on the year’s celebration , he urged the members to keep up with their good works
Also present at the 2024 C.M.O day celebration include , Bro . Kingsley Okechukwu Nwaigwe , Dr Kingsley Eneremadu , Engr.Jonathan Nwogu , KSJI , Bro Peter Ugwu , Sir Remy Chukwu ,KSJI , other planning committee members and notable personalities who contributed to the success of the celebration.
