Audu Ogbeh, a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one of Nigeria’s most influential political figures, has died at the age of 78.
His family confirmed his passing in a statement on Saturday, though they did not disclose the cause of death.
Ogbeh, who served as PDP National Chairman from 2001 to 2005, was also a former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. Over the decades, he played a prominent role in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape, earning a reputation for his intellect, eloquence, and commitment to national development.
Known for his versatility, Ogbeh was also a farmer, writer, and public affairs commentator, often speaking on issues of governance, food security, and economic policy.
