Ibejiakor Appreciates Uzodimma On appointment, Hails Governor’s Passion For Better Imo

A commissioner-designate, Hon Ernest Ibejiakor has expressed gratitude to the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for considering him worthy to serve in his cabinet, adding that such would motivate him to serve the present government faithfully. This was as he hailed the governor for his uncommon passion in making the state better as shown in his giant strides.

Nwa-Ndaa, as he is popularly called, made the disclosures in Owerri on Thursday, while interacting with newsmen at the end of a two-day retreat organized by the governor for his yet to be sworn-in appointees; an event designed to prepare them for the final phase of the present 3R Government in the state.

The former federal lawmaker, elated for having been chosen to serve, promised to bring his wealth of experience in governmental circles and mass mobilization to bear in Governor Uzodimma’s efforts towards taking Imo State to an enviable height. Overwhelmed by the governor’s achievements so far, Hon Ibejiakor, attributed such to the governor’s passion for better Imo.

He declared that he would have extended Senator Uzodimma’s tenure in office beyond the Constitutional stipulated eight years if he had the power, doubting if there could be a better replacement after his exit from office. He emphasized the importance of the retreat, describing it as impactful, as they had been equiped progressively for the task ahead.

He said: “We just ended a two-day retreat for the appointees. What we have learnt and what we have come to understand about the vision and mission of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma within these two days is something commendable. Really, if you study what he has done so far and where he is going, I doubt if we can be able to have after his eight years another governor again that has the interest of Imo people at heart like him.

“Honestly, if I am allowed, I will recommend another eight years for Governor Uzodimma to enable him to round up with all he has in stock for our people.” Hon Ibejiakor also disclosed his readiness to make an impact: “I am here to serve the state and contribute meaningfully towards the realization of the 3R Government objectives, especially in this time of consolidation. I believe that His Excellency that appointed me knows my capacity and experience both in the legislative and executive arms and also in the judiciary as a lawyer.

“I am also good in grassroot politics and good a thing, His Excellency is a people-oriented leader. I am interested in any politics that concerns the people, that protects the welfare of the people. That is a where you will see me and that is the kind of politics I play. I believe that I will make His Excellency proud and I will make the Imo people proud in all ramifications,” Hon Ibejiakor averred, while soliciting support for the present government.
