In a decisive move to enforce financial compliance, Hon. Frank Onwumere, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on park Supervision/Illegal Motor Parks, has issued a stern directive to all motor park owners, both private owned. The directive mandates the payment of all outstanding revenues into the government-approved Treasury Single Account (TSA) within seven days from the date of this notice.
Hon. Onwumere emphasized the critical nature of this directive, stating that any motor park owner who fails to comply within the seven-day window will face the immediate shutdown of their operations by the Imo State government. This ultimatum aims to address the long-standing issue of revenue evasion by numerous motor parks across the state.
It has come to the government’s attention that for many years, a significant number of private owned motor parks have consistently failed to remit their revenues into the “TSA” account. This persistent non-compliance has resulted in substantial financial losses for the state, undermining efforts to improve public infrastructure and services
The Imo State government is committed to ensuring that all revenues due to the state are duly collected and utilized for the benefit of our citizens,” said Hon. Onwumere. “This ultimatum is a final call for compliance. We expect all motor park owners to adhere strictly to this directive to avoid any disruption to their operations.
Motor park owners are urged to take immediate action to rectify any outstanding payments and ensure their revenues are promptly deposited into the Imo State TSA account. This measure is not only a legal obligation but also a crucial contribution to the state’s development and the well-being of its residents.
Failure to comply with this directive within the specified timeframe will result in the enforcement of stringent measures, including the closure of non-compliant motor parks. The Adviser on park Supervision/Illegal Motor parks remains resolute in its commitment to financial accountability and the rule of law.
For further inquiries or assistance regarding the payment process, motor park owners are advised to contact the relevant government offices without delay.
