In a bid to elevate Mbaitoli onto the global stage, I recently visited key officials in the United Kingdom. My meetings included discussions with Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney, Councillor Kam Adams of Hoxton East and Shoreditch, and Councillor Susan Fajana-Thomas.
Our conversations focused on establishing a bilateral partnership to enhance teacher training in Mbaitoli and create economic opportunities between our councils. We also explored collaborations in the health sector, specifically targeting diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, prostate cancer, and breast cancer.
As part of our health initiatives, an NGO will train nurses in rural areas and educate the local population on preventive measures for these diseases.
This journey to position Mbaitoli and Imo State on the path of global development is ongoing, and we are committed to achieving these goals in the near future.
