United Nations Group Honours Governor Uzodimma, Celebrates World Friendly Day in Imo State

The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPP) will honor Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, with the “2024 SDG Most Friendly Nigeria Governor of the Year” award on July 30, 2024, in Owerri, Imo State. The event, marking United Nation Friendly Day, aims to advocate for peace and security in the state.

IAWPP recognized Governor Uzodimma’s efforts in addressing insecurity in Imo State through collaborative and friendly approaches with security operatives. The event will feature discussions on friendliness norms and values as a panacea for peace and harmony, with attendees including royal fathers, government officials, technocrats, businessmen, civil servants, religious leaders, and the general public.

Speakers include His Eminence Amb. Dr. Declan Okwudiri Oguine, Chairman, and His Eminence Amb. Capt Kelvin, Imo State Coordinator, IAWPP.

Governor Uzodimma’s Special Adviser on Media, Sir Modestus Nwamkpa, commended the honor, describing it as a deserving recognition of the governor’s people-oriented and friendly policies, which have distinguished him in promoting good governance in Imo State and Nigeria.
