…Installs Winifred Osuigwe as 3rd President

With a view to improving growth, forwardness, peace, unity, conviviality and social amenities in the society, Rotary Club of Owerri Royals, says it will intensify humanitarian service.

The promise to stretch its impact to serving humanity passionately was made by President of Rotary Club of Owerri Royals, Rtn Barr Winifred Chinonye Osuigwe, in her Presidential Address, during installation ceremony as the 3rd President of the Club, held last Saturday, at Rento Hotel and Suites Owerri.
Outlining seven areas of focus of activities by the Club which are “Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Maternal and Child Heath, Basic Education and Literacy, Economic and Community Development and Supporting the Environment”, Osuigwe disclosed that “these projects are estimated at 4.5 million naira”, hence she enjoined financially stable individuals, groups or corporate bodies to support this cause of touching lives and bringing soccur to humanity.

The President stressed that “the Rotary will, this year, embark on ‘Magical Year’, a time when we turn our dreams into reality through service. This year, we envision our club expanding its impact, fostering unity and touching more lives. I am committed to leading with passion and purpose, ensuring that together, we keep the light of Rotary glowing brightly”.
Earlier, taking the Oath of Office and Allegiance administered to her by Rtn Sylvia Anthony -Eweputanna (PHF Vice President), Osuigwe “solemnly affirmed to be faithful, bear true allegiance to Rotary Club of Owerri Royals, to preserve, protect and defend the standard of Rotary Club Constitution, Statement of Policy and Bye-laws of the Club and Rotary District 9142”, as well as discharge her duty to the best of her ability to move the club on.

Appreciating members of Rotary Club of Owerri Royals, friends, relatives, colleagues, business associates, among others, for celebrating her, Osuigwe promised that she would not relent in the work of God and service to humanity.
In an opening remarks, Installation Committee Chairman, Rtn Ndubuisi Dikeocha PHP, explained that Rotary Club of Owerri has a great tradition of service and dedication to improving the community and stabilizing peace and social progress.
Thus, the ceremony featured Launching of Service Projects, Inauguration of Board of Directors, Induction of New Members, among who is Associate Prof. Chigozie Uchegbu Ugo-Okoro, IMSU) and Award Presentation to Rtn. Cajetan Ikenna Osuagwu, Comr. Sir Nwokeji Uchenna Sunday (SSANU Chairman, Imo State and the President of Owerri Sports Club), Barr. Chuks Akamadu, FIMC, MIOD, MNIM, MNIPR, MITPN, MNIMN, CMC, Comr Engr. Okey Animba SSANU Chairman ESUT/SSANU Zonal Secretary, among others.
