Hon. Barr. Harrison Anozie Nwadike, representing Isu/Njaba/Nkwerre/Nwangele (INNN) Federal Constituency in Imo State, has inaugurated a three-day empowerment initiative aimed at equipping his constituents with practical skills. Organized with support from the Project Development Institute (PRODA), the program commenced on October 29, 2024, at Nenassa headquarters in Njaba, designed to uplift young people and women in the community.
This initiative focuses on fostering economic self-sufficiency through skill acquisition. Hon. Nwadike emphasized the program’s potential to strengthen local entrepreneurship and create sustainable economic opportunities. Support from Endez Farm Limited, a consulting partner in the program, was acknowledged for enhancing its impact. Mr. Daniel Orisakwe, Secretary of the Equity Project, served as the host and highlighted the training’s significance, describing it as essential for nurturing talents in a competitive economy.
PRODA officials, including Engr. Patrick Mbah and Mrs. Patience Nwanmadu, participated in the event, with Mrs. Therassa Nwachukwu leading the training on skills such as cosmetology, liquid soap production, and Vaseline manufacturing. Nwachukwu structured the sessions with a “Three C’s” approach—Commencement, Concentration, and Completion—emphasizing discipline and focus.
Participants engaged in hands-on learning, particularly on liquid soap-making, where they were taught specific formulas and ingredients. The program has received positive feedback, with many constituents expressing gratitude for the skills they gained and their potential to boost local businesses. Optimism abounds as participants look forward to applying their new knowledge to advance their communities.
