by admin

Imo youths have been urged to promote the cultures of their communities in order to strengthen goodness, peace, unity, conviviality and development.

This urge for the youth to remain law-abiding while projecting the Igbo culture and tradition was made by Commissioner of Youths and Talent Hunt, Dr. Emeka Mandela Ukaegbu while addressing the people of Egbema during their 2024 Yam Cultural Festival held in Owerri on Sunday.

Ukaegbu stressed that when the youth who are veritable tools for society peace and development come together to celebrate, promote the cultures of their communities, socialization, economic prosperity would be advanced.

“I feel very delighted to take part in the Yam Cultural Festival of Egbema people. It is a great tradition and it is cheering that youths and other young people are gathered here today to observe their Yam Cultural Festival in Owerri. You have done noble by propagating and importing your cultural heritage to Owerri and to the world. The state government will always create admissible grounds through which youths can enhance their potential and hence contribute meaningfully to the development of the state”, the Commissioner said.

He however indulged the youth to remain united, law-abiding, peaceful even as they support the activities of government with a view to improving goodness and development in Imo State.

While thanking United Egbema Brothers Association for organizing, exporting and celebrating their rich cultures. Keep up the good work”,
