The Executive Chairman of Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State,Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani on Wednesday 14th May,2025 inaugurated Community Development and Mobilization to ensure speedy development of the grassroots.
This is inline with the directive of the Executive Governor of Imo State,His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma.
It was indeed a gathering of cream de la cream of stakeholders including captains of industries who were present at the Council Hall of Oguta Local Government Headquarters.
The meeting kicked off with an opening prayer said by Hon. Sir Modestus Chinedu Nwankpa, the SA to the Executive Governor of Imo State on Print Media at exactly 1.30pm,and thereafter ushered in presentation of kola nut by the Executive Chairman,Hon Ifeanyi Nnani to the audience .
As tradition demands , the kola nut was presented to the Chairman of Oguta Council of Traditional Rulers , His Royal Majesty Eze Franklyn Okafor , Eze Ejeamato 1 of Ose Motor, and was blessed by the Eze Igwe of Oguta Community,His Royal Majesty Eze Nnani.
Hon Ifeanyi Nnani , the Executive Chairman of Local Government Area , in his opening speech, welcomed everyone present at the meeting hall and thanked the dignitaries for honouring the meeting despite the short notice.
Additionally, Hon. Nnani emphasized on the importance of the meeting , stating that the Constitution of Community Development and Mobilization Committee will help in solving various challenges confronting their numerous communities, ranging from insecurity , health care, education and provision of basic infrastructure in their various communities.
As a follow up to the Town Hall Meeting convened by His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma , the Executive Governor of Imo State on 10th of May 2025, His Excellency constituted “COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND MOBILIZATION COMMITTEE ” in all the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State.
Members of the newly inaugurated COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND MOBILIZATION COMMITTEE were;

Imo State Governments from the LGA – Member - Chairmen and Members of the Federal and Imo

from the LGA – Member - Chairman of the LGA Council of Traditional Rulers – Member
- Chairman of the LGA Forum of Presidents General
of Community Development Associations – Member - The Chairperson of the LGA Forum of Women Leaders – Member

The Committee has the following Terms of Reference:
a.) To work out a strategy for and facilitate efficient and comprehensive enrollment of all citizens from the LGA in the Imo State Health Insurance Scheme;
b.) To work out modalities and facilitate the establishment of a vibrant vigilante outfit in every Autonomous Community in the LGA;
c. ) To identify and recover all Government assets and property in the wrong hands in the LGA;
d.) To identify any encroachment on any government land, facility or property and bring such cases to the urgent attention of the government;
e.) To identify and bring to the urgent attention of the government any security challenge that is peculiar to the LGA;
f.) Any other issues the Committee considers necessary to realize the mandate of the Committee.
In a related development, the Executive Chairman,Hon Ifeanyi Nnani performed the ground breaking ceremony of perimeter fencing of Oguta Council Headquarters, Oguta.
It is on records that out of the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State , Oguta Local Government Area is the only Local Government Area that has not been fenced and secured,and that gives room for criminals to encroach and cart away some valuables kept at the Council.
Recalled that upon his official swearing in and commencement of his official duties as the Executive Chairman,Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani swift into action by commencing moulding of over 50,000 blocks and clearing of the Headquarters surroundings.
