The Labour Party has announced a major reorganisation and mobilisation drive ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring its readiness to reclaim political power and defend the mandate of Nigerians.
This follows the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) recent clarification on the party’s leadership crisis, including the withdrawal of recognition previously accorded to the erstwhile national chairman, Julius Abure. Party leaders said the move has paved the way for unity and a fresh direction within the Labour Party.
According to party chieftain, Barr. Ihejirika Eze Emeka, the Labour Party is entering a new phase of growth and political consolidation. With 25 members in the House of Representatives, 7 Senators, and over 50 members of State Houses of Assembly nationwide, he said the party has established a strong foundation to challenge the ruling class and protect the interests of Nigerians.
The Labour Party is now fully recharged to deliver Nigerians from the pains of bad governance. We will ensure that every single vote cast for our party in future elections is protected. Never again will the votes of Nigerians, freely given to us, be stolen or subverted,” Emeka declared.
He further called on Nigerians to continue to stand behind the Labour Party’s coalition, which includes the 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi; Abia State Governor, Alex Otti; and elected representatives across the federation.
With God, everything is possible, he affirmed, urging supporters to remain steadfast as the party prepares for the journey to 2027.
Emeka, who also serves as the convener of the Obi Must Come Group, emphasised that the Labour Party remains the true vehicle for national redemption, assuring Nigerians that the coalition will not relent until the country experiences genuine change.
