SECLOG of Ikeduru Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Bright Ahamefule, has commended the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, for what he described as a landmark move in uplifting the welfare of Imo workers through the newly approved ₦104,000 minimum wage.
He described the announcement as historic, timely, and a reflection of people-centered governance, especially at a time when Nigerians are grappling with the economic realities of the day.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Owerri, Hon. Ahamefule praised Governor Uzodinma’s administration for its forward-thinking approach, saying the increase in civil servant salaries shows the governor’s deep concern for the wellbeing of the state’s workforce.
He further noted that the salary adjustments for medical doctors, lecturers, and health professionals, as well as the release of ₦16 billion in gratuity arrears to pensioners, reflect a clear effort to restore dignity and fairness to public service.
He urged civil servants and all government employees in Imo State to see the gesture as motivation to dedicate themselves to excellence and discipline in the discharge of their duties.
According to Hon. Ahamefule, the Uzodinma-led administration is setting a standard that should be recognized and emulated by other state governments across the federation.
He concluded by stating that the people of Ikeduru and Imo State at large are witnessing a new era of purposeful leadership.
