Former Vice President Kamala Harris has sharply criticized President Donald Trump, accusing him of pulling the United States into a dangerous and unnecessary conflict with Iran.

In a strongly worded statement, Harris argued that the administration’s recent military actions risk escalating tensions in the Middle East and entangling the country in a war that the American people neither asked for nor support.
Harris described the unfolding situation as a “war of choice,” warning that such an approach could cost American lives while further destabilizing an already volatile region.

She emphasized that decisions of this magnitude should not be made unilaterally, underscoring the constitutional role of Congress in matters of war and military engagement. According to Harris, bypassing broader legislative consultation weakens democratic accountability and increases the risk of prolonged conflict.

The former vice president also took aim at what she characterized as a contradiction between Trump’s previous promises to end so-called “endless wars” and the current trajectory of U.S. foreign policy. She argued that escalating hostilities with Iran undermines diplomatic pathways and damages America’s credibility on the global stage.
As tensions mount, political divisions in Washington appear to be deepening.

Supporters of the administration maintain that firm military action is necessary to deter threats and protect national security. Critics, however, echo Harris’s concerns, calling for restraint, transparency, and renewed diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation.

With the situation still developing, Harris urged lawmakers and international partners to prioritize de-escalation and peaceful resolution. She stressed that safeguarding American lives and maintaining global stability must remain at the forefront of U.S. policy decisions.
