Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, on Wednesday commissioned a newly constructed and fully equipped maternity centre funded through a public crowdfunding campaign.
The project, launched as part of activities marking her 46th birthday, is aimed at improving access to quality maternal healthcare for women in underserved communities within the district.
According to the senator, the initiative reflects her commitment to community-driven development and the belief that collective effort can bridge critical gaps in healthcare delivery. She expressed gratitude to all donors who contributed to making the centre a reality, noting that the facility will help reduce maternal and infant mortality rates in the region.
