Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has appealed to Abia State Governor Alex Otti to consider joining the All Progressives Congress APC, noting that such a move would strengthen cooperation between the state and the Federal Government.
Speaking during an interaction with party stakeholders in Abia, Kalu commended Governor Otti s administration but maintained that Abia would gain more developmental opportunities by being part of the ruling party. He said closer political alignment could fast track federal interventions in key sectors of the state.
The Deputy Speaker stressed that the APC remains receptive to leaders focused on delivering good governance and advancing national unity.
Governor Otti, who was elected on the platform of the Labour Party, has yet to respond publicly to the appeal.
Political analysts believe the call is part of broader efforts by the APC to deepen its presence in the South East region.
