Amb. Prince Paschal Nwakamma, popularly known as Dumdum, has strongly denied allegations of bribery and financial misconduct leveled against him by the leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.
The allegations, which have been circulating widely on social media through viral videos linked to a recent demolition controversy, accused Nwakamma of receiving ₦7 million and ₦10 million in connection with alleged land-related dealings.
Reacting to the claims, Nwakamma described the accusations as false, malicious, and deliberately intended to damage his reputation and public image.
He insisted that at no time did he engage in any financial transaction, land negotiation, or personal dealings with Uwazuruike, either in an official capacity or privately.
According to him, since leaving his position as Special Adviser to the Governor on Lands Recovery, he has not met, spoken to, or had any form of communication with the MASSOB leader.
Nwakamma maintained that the allegations being circulated were entirely fabricated, stressing that they were part of a calculated attempt to mislead the public and undermine his years of service in government.
He further stated that his tenure in public office was characterized by transparency, due process, and strict adherence to the rule of law, adding that he never collected any money from Uwazuruike or anyone acting on his behalf.
The former aide also questioned the credibility of the claims, challenging Uwazuruike to provide concrete evidence, including bank records, transaction details, or verifiable communication that supports the allegations.
He noted that in matters of such seriousness, public figures should be prepared to back up their statements with facts rather than resorting to what he described as “media sensationalism.”
Nwakamma warned that allowing false allegations to circulate unchecked could harm not only his personal reputation but also the integrity of public discourse.
He urged members of the public to exercise caution and avoid drawing conclusions based on unverified social media content, stressing the importance of responsible information sharing.
He further called on journalists and media platforms to verify facts before publication, noting that misinformation could have lasting consequences on individuals and institutions.
Reiterating his position, Nwakamma maintained that he remains committed to truth, accountability, and the rule of law, adding that he will not hesitate to defend his name through legal means if the defamation continues.
He also hinted that his legal team is already reviewing the statements and circulating materials with a view to initiating appropriate legal action if necessary.
The former government official concluded by calling for calm and restraint from all parties involved, emphasizing that disputes of this nature should be addressed through lawful and verifiable channels rather than social media escalation.
