Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have once again demonstrated professionalism and dedication by successfully rescuing a truck driver who was trapped inside an overturned containerised vehicle.
The accident occurred after the truck reportedly experienced brake failure, causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to topple along a major roadway. The crash led to heavy traffic congestion as the driver became trapped inside the damaged cabin, creating an urgent emergency situation.
Responding promptly to distress alerts, LASTMA’s Rescue and Recovery Team arrived at the scene and immediately took control of the situation. The operatives secured the area, diverted traffic to prevent secondary accidents, and deployed specialized recovery equipment to stabilize the fallen truck.
Their coordinated and cautious approach ensured the safety of both the trapped driver and other road users.
After an intense rescue operation, the driver was successfully freed alive and promptly attended to for medical care.
The timely intervention of LASTMA operatives was widely praised, as it prevented what could have resulted in a tragic loss of life.
