…Grassroots Group Calls for Fair Representation Between Oru North and Oru South
By Douglas Princemola
The Citizens Grassroot Renaissance and Human Development Initiatives (CIGRAHDI) has called for fairness, equity, and inclusive representation in the political leadership of Oru West Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections in Imo State.
The group made this known while reviewing the political structure of the constituency, which comprises two major blocs—Oru North and Oru South. It expressed concern that representation has, over time, tilted in a way that restricts equal political opportunities across the constituency.
CIGRAHDI stressed the need for a balanced and inclusive arrangement that guarantees fair consideration for both blocs in future elective positions, particularly the Oru West State Constituency seat in the Imo State House of Assembly.
In expressing its position on emerging political interests, the group said it is strongly rooting for Hon. Chief Chetachi Ezeanochie as part of its broader call for fairness and equitable representation in the constituency.
According to the organization, Hon. Ezeanochie represents grassroots-driven leadership anchored on accessibility, inclusiveness, and community-focused development.
CIGRAHDI clarified that its position is part of a wider advocacy for equity rather than an official endorsement process, stressing that its focus remains on justice, balance, and fair political participation across Oru West.
The group called on political stakeholders, community leaders, youths, women groups, and other actors in the constituency to support an open and inclusive political process that reflects the collective interest of the people.
Restating its commitment to grassroots development and good governance, CIGRAHDI maintained that balanced representation is essential for unity, peace, and sustainable progress in Oru West.
It added that Hon. Chief Chetachi Ezeanochie continues to enjoy growing recognition among stakeholders within the ongoing drive for fair and inclusive representation in the constituency.
