Chief Barrister Enyinna Onuegbu, KSC, has declared his continued commitment to the administration and vision of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, saying he has dedicated the remainder of his political life to serving the governor’s vision for the state.
Onuegbu made the declaration while formally handing over the affairs of the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning to the newly appointed Commissioner, Surveyor Clement Ikpeama Nwabichie.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Onuegbu described his service in the ministry as a great privilege, particularly the opportunity to serve under the leadership of Governor Uzodimma.
According to him, the reforms introduced by the Uzodimma administration have transformed the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, moving it from largely analogue processes to a more digitalised system.
He noted that before the reforms, the ministry’s operations were largely analogue, a situation which, according to him, had raised concerns about transparency and public confidence.
Onuegbu said the digital transformation of the ministry has helped to reduce opportunities for fraud, discrepancies and maladministration while improving the efficiency of its operations.
He attributed the reforms to the Shared Prosperity Administration of Governor Uzodimma, saying they were designed not only to modernise the ministry but also to restore public confidence in its activities.
He further stated that the reforms were aimed at preserving the dignity of the ministry and creating an investment-friendly environment for businesses and investors in Imo State.
According to him, the impact of the reforms is beginning to manifest, with investments gradually coming into the state as confidence in the state’s land administration processes improves.
Onuegbu expressed optimism that the gains recorded so far would be maintained and expanded under the continued implementation of the Shared Prosperity agenda.
While formally handing over the ministry, he congratulated the newly appointed commissioner, Surveyor Clement Ikpeama Nwabichie, and expressed confidence in his ability to build on the reforms already implemented.
He also thanked the people of Imo State for the opportunity to serve them, describing his time in office as a deeply valued experience.
“It has been a great privilege serving the good people of Imo State in this capacity and, most especially, serving under the leadership of His Excellency. It is a rare privilege that I hold very dear,” Onuegbu said.
The former commissioner said his commitment to Governor Uzodimma’s vision would continue beyond his tenure at the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning.
“I have donated the remainder of my political life to the service and vision of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma,” he stated.
The handover marks a new chapter for the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, as the newly appointed commissioner assumes responsibility for the ministry and its ongoing digital transformation and reform agenda.
