Imo State Entertainers Association under the aegis of United Entertainers and Friends Forum (UNEFF) has honoured some practical and Entertainment Development Individuals who have done well to promote and encourage Imo State Entertainers and Musicians in the past which include; the Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Community Policing, HRM, Eze Dr. Emmanuel Okeke.
Others are; a Promising young man who in his magnanimity built a two story hospital for the indigent and less privileged people of his Umuobom Autonomous Community in Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State, Chief Somadina Augustine Nkakwa,( Akukaria Umuobom), Hon. Chief Stanley Obidiegwu,former Commissioner for Special Projects Imo State, Prof. Vitalis Orikaeze Ajumbe, owner of the first Musical Studio in Owerri Imo State (Biton Studio) and many others.
Addressing newsmen, the National President of UNEFF, Chief Emmanuel Maduike, a thorough breed entertainer, pointed out the number of issues that necessited the formation of the Association as one that has come to stay in order to change the old narratives.
“This includes, to put in place welfare packages to take care of all the ailing members and to bring sound Insurance Scheme to help the Older members as well as to ensure sustainability and secure of all the old music firms and Films equipments. To organize yearly music festivals to help revive and bring back music life, Culture of music concert in Owerri Imo State.
According to him, the Association is made up of Entertainers from various branches of the entertainment industry which include; Musicians, Actors, Comedians, Masters of Ceremony and many others”.
“This is in a view to unite the industry to develop our own State through entertainment philosophy, advise and educate both the general public and the government through music, comedy and acts”.
In his speech, the former Commissioner for Special Projects Imo State, Hon. Stanley Obidiegwu, who is equally a member of the Association informed his colleagues to hold tenaciously those virtuous of good entertainment and to use same to grow the society positively. Bring humor to unpleasant situations and ensure that the people are entertained.
Speaking on his Award, Chief Somadina Augustine Nkakwa Akukaria Umuobom said that he is overwhelmed with joy that his contribution to his people in Umuobom Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State has gotten to a State recognition for him.
According to him, he single handedly built and equipped an Ultra Modern Two Story Hospital edifice in his Umuobom Home Community to help his indigent and less privileged patients seek for quality health care provisions without any stress. “To ensure that our people are not dying due to lack of good health facilities.
He pointed out that he took the Title Akukaria to compliment his strong love and efforts to uplifting the living standards of his people as one who kept gate and doors open to assist the people.
He is also owners and CEO, Somamotors Limited, Selling Vehicles of high Quality, Importers and Exporters Company
He pointed out that his Youths empowerment scheme is equal to none as his Football Team, Soma-Emirate Football Club Won the last Trophy in Ideato South Local Government Area a testament to his genuine contributions to Youth development and talent hunting and assured that very soon his Club will develop talents and professional footballers to play for the State, Nation and International Club’s.
Some prominent individuals witnessed the event including the Vice National President, Chief Vitalis Ndubuisi Igwe Hollywood, The Representatives Of Ndi Igbo in Abuja, and High Chief. Amb. Rabbai Chukwuemeka Ndum (MC Powerful Papa Mumu of Igbo land) and many others.
