… Lauds Uzodimma
The lawmaker who represents Owerri North State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Kelechi Ofurum, has lauded Governor Hope Uzodimma for setting aside huge amount of money for the payment of gratuities for retirees in the state.
He said the feat is ideal and laudable as such will go a long way to relieve the retired workers from economic burden and hunger occasioned by the economic scarcity being experienced in the country.
Speaking to our reporter in Owerri on Monday, Ofurum said the effort of the Governor to regularly pay the retired workers their gratuities shows his love for the people of the state and his ability to reward efficiency and selfless service among civil servants in Imo State.
While reflecting that the money, apart from being a source of huge relief to the pensioners, the legislator pointed out that the payment will encourage public workers across the state to always put in their best towards economic prosperity and social development of Imo State for enhanced peace, comfort and security.
Thus, Ofurum described the Governor as a true democrat who he posited sees politics as a good avenue to render selfless and effective services to humanity and society to promote goodness and progress.
The vibrant lawmaker and pragmatic politician prayed to God Almighty to continuously imbue the Governor with rich wisdom, strengthens and sustains him as he governs the state with human face and dignity.
