The Special Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Southeast chapter, Hon. Dr. Stanley Chinedu Nwachukwu, has lauded the Executive Chairman of Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State, Hon. Engr. Chidiebere Emeribe, for his outstanding leadership qualities and commitment to community development.
Speaking to journalists in Owerri over the weekend, Hon. Nwachukwu praised Chairman Emeribe’s capacity to deliver across various sectors, particularly his efforts in maintaining peace in New Owerri Ward 2 and enhancing order in markets across the Owerri metropolis.
He also reaffirmed his support for the inclusion and welfare of persons with disabilities, pledging ongoing collaboration and assistance.
Nwachukwu, a respected business magnate and politician from Orlu, further used the occasion to commend the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his bold infrastructural moves—especially the declaration of a state of emergency on key roads and the construction of the Control Post modern flyover.
It will be recalled that Hon. Engr. Chidiebere Emeribe was among the executive chairmen elected under the APC platform during the local government elections held on Saturday, September 21, 2024. His election as chairman of Owerri Municipal Council—an area regarded as the epicenter of state administration—was met with widespread celebration and high expectations from residents.
His victory was seen as the people’s choice, especially across the 11 wards of the Municipal Council, where his popularity and goodwill were overwhelmingly reflected at the polls.
Emeribe, an engineer by profession from Amawom Autonomous Community, is widely seen as a young and visionary leader who embodies the qualities needed to lead effectively. Having served in various leadership roles—including Chairman of the Interim Management Committee of Amawom, APC Monitor for Owerri Municipal, and the immediate past Sole Administrator (SOLAD)—he has consistently demonstrated competence, integrity, and results-driven governance.
His short stint as SOLAD was particularly marked by impactful projects and reforms that earned him public admiration and laid a solid foundation for his current mandate.
A dynamic and people-oriented youth, Hon. Emeribe is known for his humility, accessibility, and deep commitment to the holistic development of Owerri Municipal. His leadership style mirrors the “Shared Prosperity” agenda of Governor Uzodimma’s administration, and expectations are high that his tenure will further catalyze growth, unity, and opportunity within the municipality.
With a track record of success, the people of Owerri Municipal remain optimistic that Hon. Engr. Chidiebere Emeribe will usher in an era of unprecedented transformation and inclusive governance.
