Imo State was aglow with solidarity and renewed confidence on Saturday as leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged at the newly commissioned Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Center, (EIICC) Owerri, to review the state of the party and assess the strides of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.
The meeting, which attracted prominent figures across the state’s political spectrum, turned into a celebration of the governor’s transformative governance and visionary leadership that have, in the words of many, redefined the Imo story.
Among the enthusiastic party loyalists who joined in extolling the governor was the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Willie Okolieogwo, who lauded Senator Uzodimma for giving governance a new face rooted in prudence, people-centered development, and infrastructural renewal.
Hon. Okolieogwo described the governor as a leader whose footprints have become synonymous with progress and whose name now echoes through every genuine project across the state.
He noted that Uzodimma’s numerous developmental initiatives have not only elevated the physical landscape of Imo but also rekindled confidence in leadership and strengthened the APC’s hold in the state.
According to him, the governor’s passion for excellence and his commitment to inclusive and wholistic governance have continued to inspire party faithful and citizens alike.
Hon. Okolieogwo emphasized that Governor Uzodimma has shown rare courage and competence in redefining leadership.
He pointed out that the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, health care, education, human capital development, and institutional reforms speak volumes, adding that what has been accomplished so far already forms the foundation of 2027.
The SA, who is also a Chartered Administrator, further joined other stakeholders in commending the governor for transforming the party’s internal structure, describing the APC under Uzodimma as reconstructed, rejuvenated, and reenergized for the future.
Participants at the meeting unanimously hailed the governor’s developmental projects, ranging from roads and education to the ultra modern conference center, describing them as visible symbols of hope and evidence of a government deeply connected to the people’s aspirations.
The stakeholders also appealed to the governor to ensure that his eventual successor shares his vision and understands the philosophy of governance that has brought peace, order, and progress to Imo State.
Responding, Governor Hope Uzodimma thanked party leaders and members for their steadfast support and assured them of his administration’s commitment to sustaining the tempo of good governance.
He urged all members to remain united, focused, and committed to building a more prosperous Imo, stressing that the state has come too far to turn back.
The governor informed the party leadership to brace up for an all inclusive electronic registration of members, as well as the party’s ward congresses coming up next month, November, targeted at injecting new blood into the party’s structural architecture.
Governor Uzodimma reaffirmed his determination to consolidate the gains already achieved and leave behind a legacy of enduring development.
