Lions Club International has presented an award to Hon. Engr. Akarachi Amadi, the Member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. The award was given to recognize his contributions to community development and his efforts to improve the lives of people at the grassroots.
The award was presented during a visit by members of the Lions Club to Hon. Amadi’s constituency office. The purpose of the visit was not only to show appreciation but also to discuss possible ways to work together in delivering projects and services that would benefit the people of Mbaitoli and Ikeduru.
The President of the local chapter of the Lions Club, Ms. Udeagwu Judith Ugomma, led the visiting team. She explained that the organization’s main goal is to reach out to people who lack access to basic services, especially in rural communities. According to her, the Lions Club wants to work with leaders like Hon. Amadi, who have shown real interest in helping their communities.
Ms. Judith said the organization is planning to carry out several projects in the constituency. These include free medical check-ups, eye care programs, and support for education. She said the group hopes to provide school supplies and financial help for children from poor families so they can go to school without stress.
She also mentioned that many people in rural areas struggle to get basic healthcare and education. This is why the Lions Club wants to step in and help, and they believe that working with leaders who understand the needs of their people will make their work more effective.
Other members of the team also spoke during the meeting. They said they were happy with the way the constituency office welcomed them and were confident that the proposed projects would have a real impact if properly supported.
Representing Hon. Akarachi Amadi at the meeting, the Director of the Constituency Office, Hon. Sir Chinedu Obidinma, thanked the Lions Club for the award and for choosing to work with the office. He said the recognition was a clear sign that the lawmaker’s efforts are being noticed and appreciated.
He told the team that the constituency office is ready to support their activities in every way possible. He said Hon. Amadi is always interested in projects that help ordinary people and that he believes in working with groups that bring value to the community.
According to Hon. Obidinma, the lawmaker has been involved in various community based projects, such as youth training, provision of water, electricity, and education support. He encouraged the Lions Club to see this meeting as the beginning of a strong relationship that can bring lasting benefits to the people.
The meeting ended on a positive note. The Lions Club said they were looking forward to starting their activities in the constituency soon. They also said they would bring in medical teams, volunteers, and needed supplies to ensure that their programs reach those who need them most.
For the people of Mbaitoli and Ikeduru, this new relationship between Lions Club International and Hon. Akarachi Amadi’s office offers hope for better healthcare, education, and general well-being. It is expected that through this partnership, more support and services will reach the communities that need them the most.
