Breaking: ISIEC Holds Validation Of Candidates Tuesday, September 17 Ahead Of Saturday’s LGA Elections

The Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) will tomorrow, Tuesday, September 17, conduct validation of chairmanship and councillorship candidates of various political parties billed to participate in the Saturday, September 21 Imo State 2024 Local Government Elections.

According to a release signed by the ISIEC Chairman, Chief Charles Ejiogu, and obtained by this reporter, the exercise will take place at the ISIEC headquarters, along Orlu Road, Owerri, by 10: 00am prompt.

Titled: “Validation of Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates for 2024 Local Government Council Election” the release expressed optimism towards the success of the excercise, hence anticipating the understanding and prompt corperation from the affected candidates.

It read: “All Candidates of the seventeen (17) participating political parties in the upcoming Saturday, 21st September, 2024 Local Government Council Elections in Imo State, are hereby requested to visit the Commission’s headquarters, 21 Orlu Road, Owerri (opposite Market Square) on Tuesday, 17 September, 2024, by 10:00am prompt.

“Thank you for your anticipated understanding and cooperation,” the release noted.

Let’s recall that the ISIEC in pursuance of its statutory mandate, had fixed Saturday, 21 September, 2024, for the conduct of the Imo State LGA elections, and the scheduled validation of candidates is part of the processes leading to the Saturday’s elections.
