The Federal Government has restated its commitment to boosting economic growth and reducing transportation difficulties through the construction of standard road networks across the country.
The assurance was given by the Special Adviser to the President on Community Engagement, Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, during a media inspection tour of ongoing Federal Government road projects in Katsina State. The tour was aimed at assessing the level of work done and ensuring that projects align with the administration’s infrastructure development goals.
Yakasai noted that quality road infrastructure remains a major component of the Federal Government’s economic transformation agenda. He explained that improved road networks enhance mobility, ease the movement of people and goods, and lower transportation costs, thereby supporting commercial activities and regional integration.
According to him, the construction of standard roads also helps to connect rural communities to urban centers, opening up new economic opportunities and improving access to markets, healthcare, and education. He added that such developments are crucial for improving the living standards of citizens.
The Special Adviser further stated that the Federal Government is committed to ensuring that all road projects are executed to standard and completed within the stipulated timeframe. He emphasized that sustainable infrastructure development is key to long-term economic stability and national growth.
The initiative, he said, is designed to strengthen economic activities nationwide and improve the overall well-being of Nigerians.
