Good leaders forgive and listen to their people. Followers should admit their mistakes and seek forgiveness.
Mr. Emmanuel Ezeanochie, the President of ISAMATA, has been in jail for over 35 days because of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.
Ezeanochie was arrested for allegedly selling government property and market stalls illegally, among other wrongdoings.
Even though the Governor can order arrests, he should do so fairly and with kindness.
Ezeanochie was taken on May 14, 2024, and is still in police custody as of June 20, 2024.
Holding him for so long without a trial goes against legal and human rights. Unless he has done something as serious as murder, he should have a chance to get bail.
Despite being held for so long, Ezeanochie has no one fighting for his release.
Others arrested with him, like a Traditional Ruler from Owerri North LGA, HRH Eze Francis Ugorji of Naze Autonomous Community, a former Imo Commissioner for Commerce, and the former Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Nze Chinasa Nwaneri, have been released after being accused of land deals worth over ₦130 million.
This difference makes people in Imo State ask many questions. Why is Ezeanochie being treated differently? Is he not from Imo State?
Ezeanochie’s health gets worse every day he stays in jail. Must he die in custody? What crime has he done to deserve such long detention without a trial?
People are angry and questioning Governor Uzodimma’s reasons.
Citizens want fairness and justice, asking for Ezeanochie to be taken to court or given bail.
For justice, he should be treated the same as those who have been released.
People in Imo State strongly demand Ezeanochie’s immediate release.
They urge Governor Uzodimma to act justly and fairly by either putting him on trial or granting him bail now.
People in Imo State are very upset about Ezeanochie’s long detention without any legal process.
They are asking the Imo Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, to speak to the Governor and help Ezeanochie, who is being held unfairly.
People are crying and worried about Ezeanochie’s ongoing detention. Reports say his health is getting worst.
