Owerri Crystal Lions Club District 404A2 , has Sensitized the public on symptoms, prevention and control of congestive heart failure.
The sensitization program that started with road walk at Emmanuel College Owerri had the members of Crystal Lions Club sharing flyers to the public, as well as educating them on how congestive heart failure can be prevented.
Owerri Crystal Lions Club members with the inscription of “Project: Heart Awareness , Your Heart Your Health ” written on their banners and flyers took the sensitization campaign to wethdral road , government house axis and finally assembled at Owerri Crystal Lions Club bus stop at wethdral road, the bus stop they built and commissioned in May , 2023.
Speaking to the press after the road walk, the Vice president of Owerri Crystal Lions Club, Lion Comrade Batholomew Ekomenwe , noted that the sensitization campaign is aimed at informing the public about the symptoms, prevention and control of congestive heart failure. He urged people to report to the hospital immediately they see signs of congestive heart disease for appropriate treatment.
Lion Ekomenwe, frowned that many have lost their lives because of ignorant of congestive heart failure . He maintained that many lives will be saved through the sensitization program. He urged the public to take the message serious .
Also speaking, past president of Owerri Crystal Lions Club, Lion Edith Ifeoma ( Ada ) Chukwunyere , stressed the need for patients to report to the hospital as soon as they notice the symptoms. She maintained that congestive heart disease can be prevented if adequate treatment is given. Lion Edith Chukwunyere , urged the public to adhere to the instructions and message of the sensitization campaign.
In his take , the zone chairman Region 9 , Lion Henry Nwaneri NLCF, advised the public to always go for checkup to avoid unnecessary casualties . He noted that identifying the causes and symptoms of congestive heart failure helps to prevent it.
