CEO Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club, Nwosu, Supports Micro Businesses, Doles Out N1m to 20 Nwangele Indigenes

Intensifying her magnanimity to better lives of Nwangele indigenes and humanity in general, the Chief Executive Officer of Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club and Edith Nwosu Healthcare Foundation for Children, Hon. Edith Nwosu, has empowered no fewer than 20 sons and daughters of Nwangele with N1m on micro-enterprises.

Indeed, the Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club disbursed fifty thousand naira each to the 20 beneficiaries selected from various communities in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State: Abba, Amaigbo, Kara, Umuorlu, Agbaja, and Dim-na-nume.

The empowerment ceremony was held on Saturday at Rockview Hotels Owerri with many lovers of good things being in attendance.

Speaking, Nwosu informed that the foundation is a Non- Governmental Organization, committed to the empowerment and welfare of the less-privileged across South East and South South Geopolitical Zones of the country.

She mentioned that her empowerment programs, healthcare outreaches, among other humanitarian gestures, were born by her desire to help individuals become productive and for the development of Nwangele, adding that the wellbeing of her people has always been her heartbeat.

Nwosu enumerated some of her foundation achievements to include disbursement of Two Hundred Thousand Naira each to some elderly men in Nwangele, which she said was not part of the distribution of food stuffs and cash freely given to households in the locality.

She further informed that her foundation carried out COVID-19 intervention in 2020 and that over 2000 persons have benefited from her free medical outreaches, as well as free eye treatment across the South East and the South South.

The CEO also hinted that the NGO has embarked on door- to-door distribution of food stuffs and cash gifts during the yuletide periods, among other notable strides made by the foundation.

After the official hand over of the cash to the beneficiaries, the chief benefactor, Nwosu, charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money to better their lives which she added would amount to the progress of Nwangele.

Some dignitaries who are present at the event included Professor Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe, Professor Protus Uzoma, Professor Agbaegbu; Eze Boniface Onoenyi, Eze Otumbari of Umuofor Amaimo, Ikeduru, the traditional ruler of Kra in Nwangele LGA, Barr. Chike Ofoma, Secretary to Nwangele LGA, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs Ruby Emele, represented by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Patience Oguejiofor.

They heaped encomiums on the donor over the philanthropic gesture and encouraged her to keep on the good work as her efforts shall be tremendously rewarded by God.

They advised the beneficiaries to take their businesses serious to beat poverty, empower others and ensure that the financial assistance given to them by Ikuku Oma Empowerment Club yields good results.
