AMANATOR OKPORO DESERVES THE BEST
In a well-structured society communal decision is highly respected and in the long run paves way to a homogenous co-existence where impact of meaningful development is very genuinely prioritized and felt by all and sundry.
Modern days Democracy is an off short of all traditional settings where the general will of the people is recognized and adopted as a way of ruler ship. Democracy in its essence is “Government by the people and for the people, in reality the “people” which is the majority must not only be heard but be seen to be involved in the overall general administration of the society (community).
Imposition of Eze is never in tune with the democratic principle that the people ruled shall be involve in the selection of who shall be at the helm of affairs of the society. Contrary to the above analysis is to bread an unending crisis in the society (community) that goes with the long arm of retardation in developmental strides or initiatives which modern societies would strive to avoid.
It is for the above reasons that the good people of AMANATOR Autonomous Community, OKPORO Orlu Imo State Nigeria shall no longer keep quiet and watch the imposition of Eze in our community. It has generated an unprecedented disharmony amongst us which in many ways has distorted our ideal developmental agenda.
This is one imposition too many. First imposition AMANATOR endured underperformance, political manipulation and failed promises, not a single meaningful empowerment programme was delivered to the people “Year in Year Out”, no trace of impact and no benefit to the people who held on till that imposition lasted.
I note that while the son of late Eze has the right to run for the office it must be in accordance with the guidelines stipulated by the constitution of AMANATOR Autonomous community.
We say “NO” to “father to son”, that is the position of our constitution and the constitutional provisions helped us to elimination some people, who may be describe as traditional lightweights or no bodies that cannot summon community meeting, never attended ward meeting or LG meetings, and whose names are completely unknown to the traditional base or to the grassroots.
If the Eze tradition in OKPORO is on family heritage, then “OKEKE NWANYA” family of UMUEKEE or the “OKONKWO” family from UBAHA OKPORO would have laid claim to the stool but Eze UGO III of OKPORO was chosen because he was educated, approved personality, capable and had the support of the good people of OKPORO in general. Likewise, at the demise of Eze ISIALA, his son had the opportunity to ascend to the throne, but ISIALA constitution which is an off short of General OKPORO traditional principle was followed and the Eze shifted to a new family. AMANATOR is created out of OKPORO why is its case different if I may ask. AMANATOR people are not blind but we see through the games and reject as whole this recycled leadership.
This is no democracy. This is hijack of power. It is an absolute insult to loyal AMANATOR people and a betrayal to the highest order. This desperate political imposition is purely dead-on arrival and AMANATOR Autonomous community deserve something better, leaders who are qualified, present, and committed to true service. The era of being fooled is over. Let the voice of the people be louder than money, louder than political influence, louder than manipulation and louder than fear.
AMANATOR is resolutely united in this very course and we strongly state that the entire community shall never be intimidated or coerced to succumb to this naked dance of shame.
