A major accident occurred Tuesday morning along the Kaduna–Abuja rail corridor after a passenger train derailed, causing several coaches to overturn. The incident sparked panic among travelers as many scrambled to safety amid the chaos.
Though the number of casualties remains unconfirmed, eyewitnesses reported injuries and damage to the train. Emergency responders and security agencies quickly moved to the scene, but no official statement has been issued by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) or transport authorities regarding the cause.
