Saturday, August 16, 2025, was a memorable day with exceptional radiance of royalty, splendor and visible expression of love and gratitude from the people of Otulu nation in Oru West LGA of Imo State towards their illustrious son who has contributed immensely to the development of Otulu Ancient Kingdom and Umuhu-Umueze Otulu Autonomous Community.

From far and wide, government officials, captains of industry, religious and community leaders thronged to the palace of Eze Dr. Sir. S. B. Nnabuo to witness his conferment of chieftaincy titles of Uduakomiri I of Umuhu-Umueze, Otulu on Hon. Chief Amb. Rtn. CNC Awobue and Osodieme I of Umuhu-Umueze Otulu on his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Juliet Chidiebere Awobue.
The special honour on Chief Awobue’s family in recognition of his philanthropic and developmental strides in Otulu by Umuhu-Umueze, Otulu, followed a similar gesture from Otulu Ancient Kingdom where Chief CNC Awobue had received the chieftaincy title of Enyioha II from HRH, Eze Festus Orji in 2016.

Performing the exercise, Eze Dr. Nnabuo, said: “My heart overflows with joy today as I confer this chieftaincy title of Uduakomiri on our illustrious son, High Chief CNC Awobue and the Osodieme on his wife, Chief Mrs. Juliet Chidiebere Awobue. This is to recognize and appreciate the contributions of this great family of Otulu to the development of our two communities.”
The Igwe Omereoha of Umuhu-Umueze, Otulu, prayed for God’s continous blessings upon Chief Awobue’s family, while urging him to keep doing good for humanity. The royal father also called on other indigines of the area to emulate Uduakomiri for the progress of the two autonomous communities of Otulu.

Responding, Chief Awobue (JP), appreciated Eze Nnabuo and his cabinet for finding him worthy of the honour. He traced the roots of his humanitarian works to his late parents who provided shelter and support for Otulu indigines who sojourned to Lagos in the 1950s. “Philanthropy is in the heart of Awobue’s family,” he said.
The United States-based Managing Director of Front Street Estate Development Company, emphasized the need for development, unity and peace in the area to reflect the name ‘Otulu’ which is translated ‘One voice,’ urging the indigines to be God-fearing, while contributing to the progress of the entire Otulu.

Uduakomiri, however, expressed displeasure over the poor condition of roads in Otulu with their negative impacts on businesses and livelihoods. He promised to lead the campaign of mobilizing funds for the project, as well as securing government partnership through shared financing mechanism. He noted that with good roads, commercial activities would blossom in the area and security guaranteed.
On her own, Chief (Mrs.) Juliet Chidiebere Awobue, glorified God for His faithfulness upon their family and for giving them the grace and enablement to touch lives positively. She expressed joy and gratitude for the honour as a demonstration of love from Eze Nnabuo and the people of the area, adding that humanitarian works which define her family would be sustained for the good of humanity.

Reacting to the event, the Managing Director, Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC), Chief Austin Onyedebelu, called Chief Awobue a good friend. “We were together in the United States.
