As the elected Chairmen and Councillors across Imo State marked one year in office, the Executive Chairman of Oguta Local Government Area, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani, has emerged as one of the top-performing council administrators in the state.
According to an independent assessment conducted by a group of Imo-based journalists, Oguta LGA under Hon. Nnani’s stewardship has witnessed remarkable unity, peace, and purposeful leadership — a stark contrast to the communal crises that once plagued the oil-rich region.
The report notes that the Chairman’s inclusive governance style and people-oriented policies have earned him respect from political stakeholders, party executives, youth groups, women leaders, and former aspirants within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oguta.
APC Leaders Laud Nnani’s Supportive Leadership:
Leaders of the APC in Oguta LGA have openly expressed appreciation to Hon. Nnani for his consistent engagement and empowerment of party officials at both the local government and ward levels.
In a jointly signed letter dated October 17, 2025, by Hon. Ugboma N. Chuks, Oguta LGA APC Chairman, and Hon. Asonna Stephen C., Coordinator of Ward Chairmen, the eleven ward chairmen commended the Executive Chairman for his “kind and loving gesture,” especially for providing monthly stipends to party functionaries.
“We wholeheartedly thank you for carrying us, the ward chairmen, along in the affairs of Oguta LGA and for your generous support. We pray that God continues to guide and protect you as you lead our council,” the letter read.
Former Aspirants Express Gratitude:
Similarly, former aspirants in the last local government elections, led by Hon. Adigwe Anthony Ossai, applauded Hon. Nnani for his magnanimity and sense of inclusion.
“Your decision to recognize and reach out to former aspirants through stipends as a mark of goodwill speaks volumes about your leadership style. You have shown that governance can be all-inclusive,” Ossai stated, adding that the gesture has fostered unity and strengthened political collaboration in Oguta.
Women Leaders Commend Chairman’s Thoughtfulness:
In a separate message, the LGA Woman Leader, Hon. Dr. Ihesie Nkeiruka, speaking on behalf of all eleven Ward Women Leaders, thanked the Chairman for his kindness and support.
“This laudable act has put smiles on our faces. We pray that God continues to protect and guide you as you lead Oguta to greater heights,” she said.
Ward Secretaries Acknowledge Recognition:
The League of Ward Secretaries of Oguta LGA, in a letter signed by Obinna Eze, also expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Nnani for recognizing their contributions and placing them on a monthly stipend.
“You have carried us along in your administration, and for the first time, we are seeing a chairman who values the secretaries’ role in party administration. You are indeed God-sent,” they wrote.
APC Youth Leaders Pass Vote of Confidence:
The APC Ward Youth Leaders of Oguta LGA, led by Hon. Modestus Obinna Jombo, passed a Vote of Confidence on the Chairman, citing his visionary leadership, youth inclusiveness, and proactive measures in promoting security and community development.
“Hon. Nnani’s leadership has provided direction and purpose for our youths. His financial support has reduced hardship and fostered a sense of belonging among young people in the LGA,” Jombo stated.
He also called for expanded youth empowerment programs, including grants for small-scale enterprises and digital or vocational skills training.

Observers note that Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani’s administration has become a model of participatory and inclusive governance, bridging political divides and prioritizing the welfare of Oguta citizens.
