Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly accused her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of threatening her family by orchestrating the arrest of her two older siblings and putting her youngest sister at risk, in an effort to force her return to their home and participation in a rehabilitation program.
Daniels shared her anguish on social media, describing how her elder brother and sister had already been arrested and that her youngest sister could face the same fate unless she complied. She appealed for help, saying she felt overwhelmed and trapped by the situation.
Senator Nwoko, meanwhile, denied the allegations of abuse, asserting that Daniels’ recent behaviour has been influenced by substance use. He insisted that the rehabilitation program is necessary for her wellbeing and offered locations in Abuja and abroad where she could receive care.
Contradicting Nwoko, Daniels’ brother, Samuel Daniels, stated that his sister is not involved with drugs and described the allegations as false. He emphasized that the couple’s private family matters should remain confidential.
The couple, who married in 2019, has long been in the public eye due to their age difference and Nwoko’s prominence in politics. The unfolding dispute has drawn attention to issues surrounding personal autonomy, power dynamics in high-profile marriages, and the protection of family members under Nigerian law.
