The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has cautioned members of the public against fraudulent letters currently in circulation that falsely claim to offer admission into the Academy. The institution described the letters as fake and said they were created by individuals attempting to mislead and defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
In a statement released by the Academy, the NDA explained that the forged letters are being shared both online and offline. Some of them reportedly carry the name and signature of the Academy’s Registrar, but the NDA made it clear that such documents did not originate from the institution and should be ignored.
The Academy stated that its admission process follows clearly defined procedures. It explained that admission into the Regular Course is announced only through officially published lists and recognized communication channels. The NDA added that the admission process for the current course has already been concluded and that successful candidates have already resumed training. Any new admission offer being circulated at this stage is therefore invalid.
The NDA also advised applicants, parents, and guardians to remain cautious. It warned that those behind the fake letters often demand money or personal details under the pretense of securing admission, which can result in financial loss or other forms of exploitation.
To avoid falling victim to such schemes, the Academy urged the public to verify admission information through its official website, authorized publications, or by contacting the Office of the Registrar. It also encouraged anyone who encounters suspicious letters or messages to report them to the appropriate authorities.
The NDA reminded Nigerians that it does not issue admission offers through agents or third parties and advised prospective candidates to rely only on information released through official channels.
