In a major show of unity and political maturity, all aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Mbaitoli and Ikeduru Local Government Areas of Imo State have resolved to put aside personal ambitions and work collectively for the success of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

The resolution was reached during a strategic meeting held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Shellcamp residence of the Honourable Member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, Hon. Engr. Akarachi Amadi. The gathering brought together party stakeholders, former aspirants, grassroots mobilizers, and political leaders from across the two local government areas.

At the end of the meeting, the aspirants issued a communiqué declaring their loyalty to the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, while pledging continued commitment to the ideals and leadership of the APC.

The aspirants stated that despite the outcome of the recently concluded party primaries, the interest of the party remains above individual ambitions. They noted that the strength of the APC lies in unity, discipline, and collective resolve to advance democratic governance and development across the state and country.

According to the communiqué, all aspirants unanimously agreed to support every APC candidate who emerged from the primaries for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and Presidential elections. They described the decision as a necessary step toward strengthening party cohesion and avoiding division within the ranks of the APC in the constituency.

The meeting also focused on strategies for grassroots mobilization and voter engagement ahead of the elections. The aspirants pledged to return to their various communities and political structures to mobilize supporters, campaign actively for the party, and ensure that the APC records overwhelming victories at all levels.

Political observers described the development as a clear indication of growing unity within the APC in Mbaitoli and Ikeduru Federal Constituency, especially at a time when post-primary disagreements often threaten party stability in many political environments.

Some participants at the meeting commended Hon. Engr. Akarachi Amadi for convening the gathering and encouraging reconciliation among party faithful. They noted that the move would strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and improve coordination among stakeholders ahead of the elections.

The communiqué also highlighted the importance of humility, sportsmanship, and mutual respect among party members. The aspirants called on APC supporters across the constituency to remain peaceful, avoid divisive politics, and work together in the interest of the party and the development of Imo State.

They also expressed confidence in the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma, applauding his administration’s efforts in governance, infrastructure development, and party leadership in the state. According to them, the continued success of the APC in Imo State depends on sustained unity and cooperation among members.

The aspirants also pledged to maintain the spirit of reconciliation and inclusiveness within the party, adding that political contests should never be allowed to create long-term divisions among party faithful.

Among those who signed the communiqué were Hon. Johnleoba Iheoha, Hon. Emmanuel Ebuka Ibe, Hon. Sir Chuks Anaele, Hon. Sir Henry U. Igbokwe, Hon. Chantel Adanna Chinyere, Hon. Chief Iheanacho Uboegbulem, Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie, Hon. Emma Duru, Hon. Dr. Elizabeth Chukwuezi, Hon. Dr. Obinna Obi Njoku, and Very Rev. CNN Nwanebu.

The meeting ended on a note of solidarity, with participants expressing optimism that the APC would emerge stronger and more united in Mbaitoli and Ikeduru as preparations intensify for the forthcoming general elections.
