Former Imo State Governor, Achike Udenwa, has demanded ₦5 billion in damages and a public apology from actor-turned-politician Kenneth Okonkwo over remarks he allegedly made during a recent television interview.

In a legal letter issued through his counsel, Udenwa described the comments as false, malicious, and damaging to his reputation. The former governor maintained that the statements portrayed him negatively before the public and could undermine the goodwill he has built over the years in public service.

As part of his demands, Udenwa is seeking an immediate retraction of the alleged defamatory remarks, a public apology to be published in major national newspapers and aired on television, as well as ₦5 billion in compensation for the alleged reputational harm.

His legal team further warned that failure to meet the demands within the stipulated timeframe could lead to legal action.

The development marks another chapter in the controversy surrounding the interview, drawing public attention to the growing dispute. However, the allegations remain subject to legal scrutiny, and no court has ruled on the matter.
