President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity across Nigeria by strengthening the Nigerian Army with modern equipment, advanced technology, and improved operational capacity.
The President assured Nigerians that his government will continue deploying all necessary resources to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats, while improving the welfare of military personnel and supporting the families of fallen heroes.
As part of efforts to build a more resilient and self-reliant defence system, Tinubu said developing Nigeria’s local defence industry remains a priority. He noted that local production of military hardware will improve national security, create jobs, encourage innovation, and reduce dependence on foreign suppliers.
The administration has already recorded progress through the acquisition of new military helicopters, mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, and the refurbishment of more than 100 armoured fighting vehicles to strengthen the Armed Forces’ operational effectiveness.
The commitment reflects the Federal Government’s determination to equip the military with the tools needed to protect lives, safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity, and restore lasting peace across the country.
