The Imo State Chapter of Zenith Labour party (ZLP) has declared it’s readiness to take over Imo Douglas House, Owerri and also win other elective positives in the state come 2O27 general election.
The chairman of the party in the state, Ichie Levi Ekeh, made the declaration In Owerri on Wednesday, 28 January, 2026, during a State Executive Council (SEC) meeting of the party held at the parties new state secretariat at No. 28 Owerri- Onitsha Road. opposite NNPC Mega Fuel Station.
Ekeh, who is also the chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Imo State, stated emphatically, that nothing would stop the party from cruising to electoral victories across the length and breath of the state in 2027.
The OrLu born seasoned administrator, however, urged members of the party, especially the zonal, LGA and ward chairmen to intensify or double efforts in their respective zones, LGAs and wards, vowing, not to drop or shortchange any party official at any level except on grounds of non-performance, sabotage or compromise of party membership.
He disclosed the party’s intention to commence, without further delay, consultation, mobilization and sensitization of it’s members across the state.
The meeting which served as a veritable platform for ventilation of views, ideas and opinions of members towards winning election in 2027, gave birth to impactful deliberation, resulting in a unanimous decision to move the party forward in the state.
The three zonal chairmen of the party, Engr. James Anyanwu (Okigwe) Chief Titus Onyeka (OrLu) and Hon. Uzoma Chigbu (Owerri) as well as zonal secretaries, women and youths leaders were in attendance.
Also in attendance were the LGA chairmen of the party who expressed satisfaction and explicit confidence in Ekeh’s capacity to take the party to an enviable hight in the state.
The meeting which ended in praises, marked the first gathering of the party in 2026 as well as the first meeting of the party at the newly acquired state secretariat.
