The political landscape of Ezinihitte Mbaise has received a significant boost as Ambassador Uchechi Stella Nwankwo, a seasoned administrator and diplomat, officially declared her intention to represent the constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly.
In a move that has sent ripples of excitement through her home base, Amb. Nwankwo, who currently serves as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Senate President, has formally picked up her Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms. Her entry into the race is widely seen as a game-changer, bringing a blend of federal-level experience and local grassroots passion to the legislative contest.
Speaking shortly after obtaining her forms, Amb. Nwankwo emphasized that her decision to run was born out of a deep-seated desire to bridge the gap between the people of Ezinihitte Mbaise and the dividends of democracy. “Ezinihitte Mbaise is a land of intellectuals and industrious people, yet our voice in the hallowed chambers of the State Assembly needs to be louder, clearer, and more impactful,” Nwankwo stated. “I am coming with a mandate to provide that strong voice—one that cannot be ignored when the interests of our people are being discussed.”
Political analysts suggest that Nwankwo’s current role in the Office of the Deputy Senate President gives her a distinct edge. Having operated at the highest levels of the National Assembly, she possesses an intimate understanding of legislative processes, budget lobbying, and constituency project facilitation.
Supporters believe this “Federal Advantage” will translate into:
Effective Legislation:Crafting bills that address youth unemployment and rural infrastructure.
Strategic Lobbying:** Ensuring Ezinihitte Mbaise receives its fair share of state and federal interventions.
Amb. Nwankwo’s campaign is built on the pillars of accountability, accessibility, and advocacy. She vowed to maintain a constant line of communication with her constituents, ensuring that her legislative agenda is dictated by the actual needs of the people.
“I am not just running to occupy a seat; I am running to be a servant-leader,” she added. “Our mothers deserve better healthcare; our youths deserve digital skills and employment; our farmers deserve modern tools. We will work until Ezinihitte Mbaise becomes a reference point for quality representation in Imo State.”
As the primary elections approach, Amb. Nwankwo’s entrance has energized the women and youth wings of the ruling All Progressives Congress, many of whom see her as a symbol of the “New Breed” of politicians ready to redefine governance in the State.
With her forms now submitted, the “Ambassador of Hope” is set to begin an extensive consultative tour across the wards of Ezinihitte, carrying a message of renewal and a promise of a “Strong Voice” for all.
